Audition Notice: Canajun, Eh?

We're planning an original show to celebrate in Point Clark

The Kincardine Theatre Guild is once again holding auditions — this time for a musical with a special performance this summer!

Auditions will be held Monday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 27 beginning at 7 p.m. at Kincardine Centre for the Arts (707 Queen Street, Kincardine).

We are looking for singers, storytellers and musicians aged 16 and up for Canajun, Eh? A presentation of folk songs, jokes and tongue-in-cheek observations from all across Canada!

What to prepare for auditions:

  • Sing one of the following songs a capella: O Canada, I’s the B’y that Builds the Boat, Farewell to Nova Scotia, Alberta Bound, or any other Canadian folk song of your choice.

AND

  • Tell a funny story, recite a funny poem or tell two jokes

The show will go on Saturday, July 9, 2022 only — with two shows that day (3 p.m. and 7 p.m.). The show will be put on at the Point Clark Lighthouse as part of the Point Clark Beach Association’s anniversary celebration.

Rehearsals will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. beginning May 2 at the Kincardine Centre for the Arts.

We need your commitment for all rehearsals and both performance times.

COVID Protocols: Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell, have COVID symptoms, or have tested positive for COVID-19 in the five days before the auditions. Masks must be worn throughout the duration of the auditions, unless you are on stage auditioning. If you are unable to attend due to illness, please email Sarah Foster and a Zoom audition can be arranged.
