We're planning an original show to celebrate in Point Clark
What: Canajun, Eh?
A show with folk songs, jokes and tongue- in-cheek observations from all across Canada!
When: Two performances on Sat., July 10, 2021 — first show at 3:00 p.m.; second show at 7 PM
Where: Point Clark Lighthouse
Why: Part of Point Clark Beach Association’s 75th Anniversary
How: From May 11 to June 6 – Online rehearsals will be held Tuesdays (6–9 p.m.) and Sundays (1:30–4:30 p.m.).
After June 8, outdoor, in-person rehearsals (location TBD and COVID conditions allowing); on Tuesdays from 6–9 p.m.
NOTE: Masks and physical distancing protocols will be in place.
Who: KTG members, ages 12 and up (membership is $20 per season).
Interested? Here’s what we need from you:
- Full commitment to all rehearsals and both performance times on July 10.
- Prepare for an online audition on Zoom that includes:
- Introducing yourself first with a statement on why you’re a proud Canadian.
- Singing ONE of the following songs (a cappella): O Canada, I’s the B’y that Builds the Boat, Farewell to Nova Scotia, or any other Canadian folksong.
- Telling two (2) jokes.
To complete the audition process, please complete this online audition form. The form includes a section to sign up for an online audition. Online auditions will be held via Zoom on Monday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 4. Within 24 hours of submitting your form, you will get an email confirming the date and time of your audition, along with the Zoom link.
If you’d prefer to film your own audition video (with the information requested above), you can do so and put the link to your video in your audition form. Audition videos are due by Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
We are also looking for musicians including guitarists and fiddlers. Please complete the audition requirements as noted above. Musicians are also requested to book an online Zoom audition or submit an audition video with a short instrumental piece (musicians will be part of the chorus and storytelling).
Please note: The cast will be limited to twelve people. You will be contacted by email by Friday, May 7, 2021.
NOTE: The show is subject to Public Health approval and allowance. The show may be cancelled if COVID conditions worsen or public health measures are strengthened.
