KTG hosting makeup workshops in March

Forget March Madness; March Makeup is more like it!

Forget March Madness; March Makeup is more like it!

The Kincardine Theatre Guild (KTG) is excited to bring two makeup workshops to Kincardine. These workshops are open to all.

Last fall, the KTG sent Erica Everingham to a makeup workshop held in Stratford where she learned a number of new techniques and skills. Erica is excited to teach others what she learned. During this hands-on course, participants will discover an exciting variety of theatrical makeup techniques, tips and tricks.

Whether you’re part of the KTG or just curious about theatre makeup, both workshops are open to everyone.

The first workshop is being held Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Participants will learn:

  • The basics of male and female stage makeup
  • The explore a variety of character looks
  • How to apply aging and bruising, bald caps and facial hair.
  • The proper techniques for cleaning brushes, maintaining an orderly workspace and professional etiquette.

The second workshop is being held on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Participants will:

  • Explore a comprehensive building experience of making reusable 3-D prosthetics, such as noses and scars, bullet holes, and wounds and learn to paint them for a finished look.
  • Observe and practice body and face painting techniques. Specifically, participants will apply sugar skull or zombie looks
  • Explore the ever-expanding and colourful world of face and body art.

These workshops are open to everyone. If you’re already a KTG member, you can attend for free. If you are not a KTG member, a $20 fee applies.
